Do I need an amateur (ham) radio license to join?

No, a license is not necessary to join. While we encourage crew to work toward improving their knowledge of Amateur Radio. Having a license is not a requirement. We’ll be happy to help you get your license if you’d like to learn though. Or upgrade to the next level!

Is the Venturing Crew only open to boys/young men?

No, venturing crews welcome young adults, male and female, ages 14-20.

When and where are the meetings?

Meetings for crew members and those considering joining are on the first and third Monday each month.

The meetings are held at the Dayton Amateur Radio Association “B-Road” site at 6619 Bellefontaine Rd., Huber Heights, OH 45424.
